Floral Curtains in a Cottage Guest Room

Antiques· Bedroom

6 Nov

Sometimes the best room refreshes happen when you don’t plan too hard. I’ve been wanting to give this tiny guest room a little update for months — maybe even wallpaper it — but time keeps getting away from me. So instead of tackling a big project, I did what I usually do when I’m short on time but wanting a change: I open up Amazon. After a quick search I found a beautiful set of floral curtains.  A set of floral curtains in a cottage guest room became the new inspiration for a quick, cozy refresh.

A Simple Refresh with Big Impact

This room is a small, all-white space with just enough cozy to make it easy to style. I love that it’s a blank canvas of sorts — neutral walls, soft whites, and a little beadboard make it easy to swap things out when the mood strikes. When I found these gorgeous floral curtain panels on Amazon, I knew they’d be the perfect way to bring in some color and pattern without feeling overwhelming. The larger floral print adds some interest and a little life to the wall and gives the whole room that “finished” feeling without needing wallpaper or paint.

Around the same time, I came across a pretty rose print at Hobby Lobby — just a touch of soft pink that instantly made the room feel more personal. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors, and I love how just a little bit of it can warm up a mostly neutral space.

Cozy Layers and a New Linen Duvet Set

Once the curtains were up, I realized the bedding could use a little love, too. I wanted to keep the overall look soft and simple, so instead of mixing patterns, I went with a ruffled linen duvet set, also from Amazon. It’s 100% linen and feels like it!  It’s heavy, high quality and beautifully made — the kind of bedding that looks high-end but feels like a cozy cloud. The ruffles give it such a charming, cottage feel. It did need a quick steam after washing, but for the quality and price, it was absolutely worth it.  If you’re in the market for a ruffled duvet, look no further!

With just a few new items, the entire room feels cohesive, serene and fresh.  The floral curtains add a little pattern and interest to the room, while the linen bedding adds texture, warmth and a luxurious bedding vibe. Together, they make the space feel both refreshed and timeless.

Styling the Details

I kept the rest of the decor simple: a few thrifted books on the long shelf that runs the length of the wall (my favorite way to fill a space affordably), a vintage frame or two, and soft lighting for a warm evening glow. I love how easy it is to switch up this shelf — sometimes it’s stacked with books, other times with seasonal finds. Each little change makes the room feel new again.

I’ve always loved that about decorating small rooms. A few thoughtful updates — like a new set of curtains or fresh bedding — can make the whole space feel completely different. And when those pieces are budget-friendly and easy to find, it makes the process even more fun.

Whether you’re decorating a spare room for guests or just craving something new in your own space, I highly recommend starting small. Sometimes the simplest changes bring the most joy — and for me, these floral curtains in a cottage guest room were exactly that.

Conclusion

This little guest room has truly become one of my favorite spaces to style and restyle. I love how something as simple as new floral curtains in a cottage guest room can completely change the feel of the space without a big renovation or a lot of expense.
